During the encore, when I lost my voice - Hailey came up and sang Symphonic - very well too.

I'd like to thank lovely Dana Feder for coming up to play cello. She played on Blackwinged Bird, Shining Light, Almighty Love, Fetching Decay and Breathless. It was so great to see her again. She played cello on "Songs of Love and Death" and "High Hopes". Also to Bob Kemmis for coming up to shred during "Northern Holiday".

Yesterday morning I awoke with visions of not being able to sing (or talk). Pete Clyde had recommended I go to the magic doctor with the magic throat spray who, on Pete's wedding day, cured his fiancee of having no voice. Apparently the magic spray cured Keith Urban when he lost his voice. So luckily the magic doctor was able to see me. He said my vocal chords were inflammed, but it didn't look like an infection. he said I shouldn't talk or whisper and only use my voice during the show. The spray was procured and off we went.

I bought a note pad so I could write everything down like Duane from Little Miss Sunshine. It was difficult not to talk and I realize how many pointless things I say that really don't need to be said. We stopped in Merritt, country musical capital of Canada. Kind of odd place I would have liked to explore for more than half an hour.

When we arrived in Kelowna Brendan interviewed me and I managed to get a few words out. Jason at the club warned me it could be a noisy night because on Fridays they usually have bands in, (and I'm doing this tour acoustically). I never mind handling a difficult crowd, but usually my weapon is my voice and to possibly not have that made me nervous. I took the spray at 7pm.

I was on close to 11 and miraculously, my voice was there for the whole set. I felt like an athlete on drugs, as though I shouldn't be able to do the great acrobatics I was doing, but I was anyway. Winston and his wife hoped that by my taking the spray I wouldn't get Roid Rage.

Two days off now, THANKFULLY and I have also been ordered not to talk until Lethbridge. However if songs come to me I'm gonna sing em anyway.
