Dec 10: Morning Smiles (Like The Face Of A Newborn Child)

Hello my dear friends,

It’s just before 9 am and I’m doing early morning prep for my show tomorrow. I love the virtual shows because I get to see all of you, from all over the world…but they are also a lot of work. I set up all the gear, the mixer, the lighting, I test everything myself…and that’s not even including practising. But this morning, knowing I’m going to see some of you is making it alright.

I was also given a big article in today’s Toronto Star. In it I talk about how coaching and music can’t really be separated for me now. I will admit I have had personal doubts about how the two hang together but in recent months, I’ve realized that without cleaning up my life, I would have never had the strength to invite Michael into my songwriting world. I would have never really found the clarity and energy to write the new songs, or take them to Nashville or ask for help. So more than ever, they are linked.

The mind is such a powerful tool. I’ll admit although I’ve been productive, I’ve often second-guessed a lot of what I have done, creatively or in business, over the past 20 years. The realization that this fear will end up manifesting those exact worries has me shifting away from it.

I recently listened to the incredible Mel Robbins break down both fear and anxiety, as well as the 4 science-backed tips for manifesting in life. I’ve explored so much self-care so some of what she said wasn’t new to me, nor will it be new to you, but I think when we are conditioned to worry or live in lack, we can always use fresh reminders. We can always get back to employing very straightforward techniques and concepts to centre ourselves.

Mel Robbins 4 Simple Steps To Manifest Anything You Want

I’ve spent a lot of last year believing that I need to rewire neural pathways and reparent to sort of rise above a lot of my fears. In actual fact, doing has served me much better. It was a resolution I made earlier this year, to DO more and RUMINATE less.

Speaking of doing, I gave my first Face Fitness classes this week. Thank you if you were among the participants who gave it a try with me. I love this practice so much, it is totally energizing, calming and empowering. I’m adding Face Yoga Certification to my resume soon, and if you’re interested in learning more, drop me a note and don’t be shy about asking. Both men and women signed up for my free classes and I’ll be offering more opportunities to practise with me once I am certified. As someone surrounded by pressures in the beauty and entertainment industry, as well as someone who does like to look their best, my face fitness classes are a perfect practice to learn about.

Hope to see you tomorrow! There are still some tickets remaining for the show. Don’t forget to use the promo code BACKSTAGE when you order your ticket for a 30% off.

Love you, Emm
