Biography

Emm Gryner is a JUNO-nominated Canadian recording artist, songwriter, author and creative mentor whose career spans more than 25 years. Her acclaimed albums Asianblue and Girl Versions were both nominated for Pop Album of the Year at the JUNO Awards. She has recorded and toured internationally with David Bowie, performing alongside the legendary artist on some of the world's most iconic stages.

In 2013, Emm helped make music history by arranging David Bowie's "Space Oddity" for Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. Recorded partly aboard the International Space Station, the groundbreaking video has amassed more than 200 million YouTube views. Continuing her connection to space exploration, Emm released "Touch the Sky" in January 2026, inspired by Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his historic Artemis II mission around the Moon. The song was mixed by Grammy-winning producer Greg Wells.

In 2023, Emm contributed lead vocals to Def Leppard's Drastic Symphonies, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Her interpretation of "Pour Some Sugar on Me" appeared on the album, which went to No. 1 on Billboard's Classical and Classical Crossover charts.

With more than 20 albums spanning pop, rock, electronic pop, yacht rock, jazz and metal, Emm continues to cross genres as both a solo artist and frontwoman of the feminist metal band Ovary Axe.

She is the bestselling author of The Healing Power of Singing: Raise Your Voice, Change Your Life (ECW Press), an International Coaching Federation Certified Coach, and a professor at Fanshawe College. Currently studying Psychological Science at Miami University, Emm combines her passion for music, psychology and creative development to mentor artists across North America.

Emm has two sons and two cats and lives in London, Ontario, where she continues to write, record, perform and champion the transformative power of music.
