Feb 16: Frisco Jones and February

How is possible that is February.

I feel that January was a bit of a write-off. I wanted to quiet down the noise of social media, even though Burn The Boats came out in the second week.

We had a few trips, one to California - our first as a blended family. Let’s face it - it was my first real trip as a family EVER. In my former incarnation of a family, we would take trips to the family cottage but never a full-on trip. It was incredible - driving a big Suburban around Los Angeles. My feet barely touched the floor of the car. (Not dangerous at all). My kids got to know Michael’s son a bit…and vice versa…there were no tears. There was the ocean, and hockey games, Anime conventions and board games.

I jetted to Florida to celebrate Ronan’s 13th birthday. It was a two day escape from the coldest weekend of the year and I think the tennis ruined me but we had a great time. Making up for being landlocked I guess.

I spent last week mentoring new bands…it was amazing. To hear everyone’s hopes and dreams. To see how quickly people move away from their dreams, but secretly hold the flame burning. I hope I provided some clarity. My coaching background certainly came in handy. I think a lot of information gets thrown at young kids these days but what a lot of people want is to be heard, to decompress, to come away with a game plan.

Revealing the cover of “Jack” to you here….just got it in. This will be the final single before the album comes out. I have asked Jack Wagner to be in the video but I’m just not sure it’s going to happen.

As promised, “Angela” is in the rare songs area. The lyrics, written by Michael about the great Angela James - the first black, LGBTQ superstar female hockey player, are also included.

I am so grateful for all of you. I will send out an invite for our next hang soon. I hope you can come. It fills my heart. XOXO
