DEF LEPPARD AND ME ON THE BBC

I did it! I played piano on the BBC Piano Room with Def Leppard….and sang my version of Sugar with them. It was incredible. I felt like I was a contest winner “win the chance to play with Def Leppard”. The best thing of it all is how sweet and gracious everyone in the band was….and so far the reaction to the song has been incredible.

This week there was an article in USA today and Joe described using my version of Sugar for the record. My favourite part…

Q.You’re going to disappoint a lot of strip club fans with this version.

JOE: (Laughs) They’re of a certain age these days where they’re happy to just sort of wonder.

We aren’t allowed to post things on social media from BBC Piano Room (which airs on May 18) but for all of you I’ve got a secret behind the scenes video of the taping. You can’t hear much of the band because they are on in-ear monitors, but you can hear the version you know, with the BBC Orchestra. Unreal!

It’s been a difficult week as well as a magical week. Learning new things, adjusting, recovering from jet lag, navigating relationships…but the Def Leppard experience has been a shining light. And to sing “Hysteria” with them was surreal.

I’ll also share a few clips on socials soon of my band rehearsal here….it BLEW. ME. AWAY. To get to play my songs this week was such a gift.

Thank you for being there for me. Now it’s time for packing.
